Verrucae

Professional diagnosis and treatment for painful or persistent verrucae.

Verrucae are a common type of wart that develop on the soles of the feet and are caused by the human papillomavirus (HPV). They often appear as small, rough or flattened areas of skin and may have a hard edge or tiny dark dots within them.

While generally harmless, they can become uncomfortable or painful, particularly when standing or walking. They can also spread or increase in number if left untreated.

In some cases, verrucae may resolve on their own. However, they can persist for a long time and become increasingly uncomfortable. Professional podiatry treatment helps ensure an accurate diagnosis and appropriate management, particularly for verrucae that are painful, stubborn or keep returning.

Our aim is to relieve discomfort, prevent further spread, and support healthy, comfortable feet. Treatment options may include Swift® Microwave Therapy, silver nitrate, salicylic acid, cryotherapy, and verruca needling, depending on the nature and persistence of the verruca.
